Restore calm, focus, & joy. Feel & function the best you ever have so you can continue building a life that has meaning and value to you.
Good psychotherapy works.
This is your one precious life.
Racing thoughts, hopelessness, fatigue, irritability, poor concentration, anger, frightening suicidal thoughts, feeling misunderstood or judged or gaslighted, sleeplessness, overeating, excessive drinking and drug use all diminish your vitality, creativity, and relationships. This is not the way life should be.
Come as you are. You’re welcome here.
This is my guarantee that I’m interested in you and your experience no matter what it is. That’s why I chose this profession: I love helping people maximize their wellbeing.
You’ve landed here because you want change.
It takes strength and courage to conclude that things aren’t OK right now. Please give yourself credit for having that strength and courage. I invite you to take a few minutes off from your busy day, refocus your awareness from the outside world, and read on. After all, this is your one precious life we’re talking about. Steady, undiluted, self-directed joy and happiness should not be conditional or a special occasion. If these things are in short supply, now is your time to figure out why and make a change.
Psychotherapy creates change.
Our daily life experience is the result of a magnificently complex interaction between our environment, mind, body, and soul. Even after decades of brilliant research in neuroscience, psychiatry, and biology we cannot profess to understand this interaction in totality. There are about 1 billion happenings inside of us every second that we can’t perceive but which cumulatively produce our moment-to-moment life experience. By the time we become aware of a thought or feeling, our internal systems have already assessed, judged, and taken action. These internal processes can easily become negative, sometimes due to our own choices but more often through influences and events that are no fault of our own. This tends to result in what feels like a nonstop spiral of suffering we are helpless to interrupt. But neuroscience, psychiatry, and biology have yielded enough leverage that we can interrupt this spiral, stop the suffering, and restore calm, focus, and joy. Neuropsychotherapy is that leverage.
Medications can provide relief from symptoms, but the work done in therapy with a skilled, compassionate psychotherapist is what creates the change that resolves the underlying problems that created the symptoms. Once therapy has begun, you’ll begin to feel lighter and notice a decrease in symptoms along with an increase in energy. You will discover new ways of understanding yourself and interpreting the world. You will be surprised at the good things you did not yet know were meant for you.
I’m a Colorado, New York, and Washington licensed psychotherapist specializing in targeted neuropsychotherapy for trauma, depression, bipolar and anger as well as anxiety, obsessive compulsion, ADHD, substance abuse, relationship problems, and personality difficulties.
I care deeply for the people I treat and I work well with individuals who struggle in traditional talk therapy. I bring a wealth of professional and personal experience to my practice. I currently offer telehealth sessions in Colorado and Washington to assess and treat individual adults and adolescents 12+ of all neurotypes, identities, genders, races, politics, and beliefs. Good psychotherapy has changed countless lives and you’ll receive the most effective methods available for your needs.
The first contact is the hardest to make because it’s in our nature to avoid difficult things. But avoidance worsens our distress over time. Fortunately, most people experience noticeable relief just taking an initial step forward. Take a moment to set up a session by calling me directly at (585) 330-6741 (*I do not receive texts*) or email me, especially if you are suffering. I want to help you in any way that I can, including offering to help you find another therapist if you decide at any time, for any reason, that’s best for you.
How It Works:
1) Book a session now. This will create some initial relief.
2) Attend the session, tell me what you’re experiencing and how you want it to change, and I’ll tell you how I can help.
3) Schedule & attend additional sessions and experience an increasing sense of restored calm, focus, & joy.
